Besiktas is named after Istanbul's city district of the same name and has played continuously in the top division since the Süper Lig was established in 1959. Beşiktaş is one of the top three clubs in Turkey. The club has won the national championship 16 times, the Turkish Cup 10 times and the Turkish Super Cup eight times. For the first five years of this century, the club played in Jerseys from German brand Puma. This is the first home Jersey from their Puma Line.
