A lovely matchworn longsleeved home shirt as worn during two seasons, 1989-1991. The number 8 was worn by Bergkamp and Jonk amongst other players. The shirt with this number type was never used in the competition, two other types were used, so it is most likely worn during a friendly match.
Leo Beenhakker took over as coach on July 1, 1989, with Spitz Kohn and Louis van Gaal joining as his assistants. Midway through 1989, Pal Fischer and Edwin van der Sar were included in the squad. The 1989/90 season saw Ajax reclaim the championship after a five-year drought. The team boasted talents like Dennis Bergkamp, Stefan Pettersson, brothers Rob and Richard Witschge, Bryan Roy, Aron Winter, and Marciano Vink.
