Following their cup victory, Antwerp qualified for the 1992/93 European Cup Winners' Cup, where they reached the final. They faced Italy's Parma AC at Wembley Stadium, but lost 3-1. In the league, Antwerp maintained a mid-table position for several years but struggled in European competitions and narrowly avoided relegation in 1995. The club also faced ongoing issues with their stadium, including closures in August 1995 due to roof instability, and further closures in the following years, with a third occurring at the end of 1997.
