The 2003-04 season started positively for Lazio with two consecutive victories, but they faced setbacks with a defeat against Parma and a draw with Empoli. In the Champions League, they won their first match but were held to a draw by Sparta Prague in the second. Despite a win against Chievo, they were eliminated from Europe by the Czech team. However, they reached the Coppa Italia final, defeating Milan before clinching the trophy against Juventus.
