Leeds kicked off the season strongly, highlighted by a Tony Yeboah hat-trick securing an away victory over AS Monaco in their UEFA Cup debut. However, their European journey was cut short, and with the league title slipping out of reach, their primary focus turned to the Coca-Cola Cup.
