Founded in 1919, Piacenza had its gutter days in the 1990s. The club played its first season in the Serie A in 1994, but unfortunately relegated immediately. The following year, the club became champions in Serie B, allowing them to play at the highest level again for the next five years. The club played in Lotto-branded shirts between 1997 and 2005.
