Celtic’s 2003–04 season was a dramatic follow-up to their UEFA Cup Final run of the previous year. Under Martin O’Neill, Celtic played some of the most attacking football in Britain, scoring heavily and pushing Rangers all the way in a fierce title race. The Hoops won the Scottish Cup, defeating Dunfermline Athletic 3–1 in the final, and reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup after famous victories over Barcelona and Stuttgart. However, the league title slipped away on the final day of the season when Celtic drew 1–1 with Motherwell, conceding twice in the closing minutes, allowing Rangers to win the championship on goal difference. Despite the heartbreak, the campaign showcased one of the strongest Celtic sides of the modern era, driven by goals, flair, and European pedigree.
