The Red Devils managed to qualify for all World Cups in the 80s and 90s and reached the Knock Out Stage in all but World Cup '98. In 1986, Belgium even reached the semi-finals, but Diego Armando Maradona threw a spanner in the works. With two goals by Maradonna, the Belgians were eliminated. The little Argentine has thus deprived little Belgium of a World title.
