The 1995–96 season was another transitional year for Inter Milan. They finished 7th in Serie A, failing to secure a European spot through league performance but qualifying for the UEFA Cup due to Juventus winning the Champions League. The team reached the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia but was eliminated in the first round of the UEFA Cup. Key signings included Roberto Carlos, Paul Ince, and Javier Zanetti, with Zanetti becoming a long-term club legend.
