Founded in 1911, Stade de Reims celebrated its greatest successes in the 1950s and 1960s. The club became champions of France six times during that period. In the 1980s and 1990s, the club was in dire straits and eventually relegated to the sixth tier in France. The club continued its upward trend early this year even finished fifth in League 1 again in 2020. The club is also currently playing at the highest level again.
