Stoke City was founded as Stoke Ramblers over 150 years ago! Thus, in 1994, Stoke City began their 88th season in professional football. The club played several seasons at the highest level during that time and even dropped to third division level once, but they always come back up to scratch! In the mid-1990s, Stoke were still playing in the Football League First Division and would achieve mediocre performances. Their beautiful away shirt was the highlight that year. Check the beautifull logo on the jersey! Finishing 2nd in the Championship in 2007, they forced a debut in the Premier League. It took almost 10 years before they were relegated again.
Icelandic midfielder Toddy Orlygsson played 2 seasons for The Potters in the mid-1990s. The 41-time international made 90 appearances for Stoke, in which he scored 16 times. He also went on to play for Nottingham Forest and Oldham Athletic.
