One of the Holy Grails and very sought after "Diamant" away shirt. Less famous as the '89-'90 Away shirt but much harder to find! Unbelievable to show you here the shirt in longsleeve most likely worn by none other than Dennis Bergkamp. He did also play with number 9 this season versus SVV Schiedam for example. Number 8 was also worn several times by Wim Jonk.
Umbro & Ajax did an amazing job in the late 80s and early 90s. Here you can see the full range of equipment of the 1989-1991 seasons. The away shirt is one of the most iconic & best known designs. The season where such talented players played at Ajax in the name of Blind, de Boer brothers, Bergkamp under the lead of Leo Beenhakker with assistant coach Louis van Gaal.
The classic Ajax crest is so good and it finally returned on the 2020/2021 home shirt of Ajax where also the nameset on the back has been removed for Eredivisie matches. This is not allowed for European matches.
