The 1990–91 season was a memorable one for Torino Calcio. Under coach Emiliano Mondonico, the team achieved a commendable 5th place finish in Serie A, securing qualification for the UEFA Cup. This was an impressive feat for a newly promoted side. Torino also won the Mitropa Cup, defeating Pisa 4–1 in the final, marking their first international trophy.
