As any soccer fan knows, Soviet shirts are coveted as gold. This examples are a tad more legendary.

On June 15, 1986, the Soviets faced Belgium in the first knockout stage of the World Cup in Mexico. They had finished first in the poul and were contenders for the title. In the midfield played Ivan Yaremchuk, the owner of this shirt. The Soviets made 1-0 and looked like they were going to win the game. However, after 90 minutes it was 2-2. The Belgians managed to score in the 102nd and 110th minutes, making the match seem decided. The Soviets came back in the 111th minute with the 4-3, making it still exciting. But it was to no avail. They were eliminated. Thus, a final Knock-Out match was played in this shirt by the Soviets at a World Cup.

The 1989-1990 home shirt is also an absolute grail. The Red of the Soviet Union is mixed with the white in a very impressive way, leading to a bloody, yet cool combination. The ominous bloodiness materialised when the Soviet Union fell apart in 1991 and the country no longer played any international matches. The Soviets' last major appearance was the 1990 World Cup in Italy, but the reds finished in a tragic last place in the poul.
