The 1995-1996 season was a successful one for Club Brugge. Under the management of Hugo Broos, the team won the Belgian First Division, finishing ten points ahead of RSC Anderlecht. They also secured the Belgian Cup, defeating Cercle Brugge 2-1 in the final. In European competitions, Club Brugge reached the second round of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, where they were eliminated by Real Zaragoza. Key players included Mario Stanić, who was the top scorer with 20 goals, and Paul Okon, who won the Belgian Golden Shoe.
