The 1994–95 season was a successful one for Rangers F.C. They won the Scottish Premier Division, finishing 16 points ahead of Motherwell. However, their cup campaigns were less fruitful, as they were eliminated in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup by Hearts and in the third round of the League Cup by Falkirk. In Europe, their UEFA Champions League journey ended in the first round against AEK Athens. Key signings included Brian Laudrup, Basile Boli, and Alan McLaren, while Duncan Ferguson departed for Everton. The season was overshadowed by the tragic death of club legend Davie Cooper in March 1995. Mark Hateley was the team's top scorer, with 15 goals in all competitions.
