FC Utrecht is a Dutch football club that together with the traditional Dutch Top 3 (Feyenoord, Ajax and PSV) has never been relegated from the Dutch Eredivisie. It was also the first club not belonging to the traditional top 3 to win the Johan Cruyff Schaal, the Dutch SuperCup. The club has a relatively short history, since it was founded in 1970. FC Utrecht originated from a merger of Elinkwijk, Dos and Velox. The club had a turbulent history with financial problems. But nowadays FC Utrecht is a stable factor in the Dutch sub top. Unfortunately, the club has not yet been able to celebrate a Dutch championship, although Utrecht did win the Dutch Cup in 1985, 2003 and 2004.
