One of the traditional top clubs in the Netherlands took third place in the Eredivisie in this Jersey. Feyenoord Rotterdam played the first nine years of this century with Jerseys of the Italian brand Kappa. This gave Kappa the honour of making the 100th anniversary Jersey for Feyenoord. For this, the colours of the city of Rotterdam were chosen. The Jersey is somewhat similar to the 1970 Feyenoord Jersey that won the European Cup I.
