The early 1980s were perhaps the most successful years for the Birmingham club. In 1981, the club celebrated its seventh and so far last National Championship. The absolute highlight was achieved the following year in this Jersey. Aston Villa faced Bayern Munich in the final of the Europe Cup I competition at the Kuip in Rotterdam on 26 May 1982. Thanks to a goal in the 67th minute by Peter Withe, Aston Villa could celebrate the win of the most coveted European Cup.
