Pisa AC 1988-1989 home shirt
Lovely longsleeved classic by Hummel, famous design as known by multiple teams and one of them is Pisa AC!
In the 1988–1989 season, Pisa Sporting Club competed in Serie A but endured a challenging campaign. Despite the arrival of international players like Dutch midfielder Mario Been and Belgian striker Francis Severeyns, the team struggled offensively and finished 17th, resulting in relegation to Serie B. Their league performance was disappointing, with only 17 goals scored, but they managed a surprising run in the Coppa Italia, reaching the semifinals before being eliminated by Napoli. Mario Been, known for his technical skill and creativity, had joined Pisa after a successful stint at Feyenoord, where he had been recognized as one of the Netherlands’ top talents. Although he became a regular starter and contributed to Pisa’s cup success, he couldn’t prevent the team’s drop from the top tier, marking a bittersweet chapter in his playing career
