This Jersey is one of the most iconic Jerseys in our collection! A symbol of Feyenoord's 1983-1984 season, this shirt is one of the Rotterdam club's most coveted away shirts.

The 1983-1984 Eredivisie season was a remarkable one and special for Feyenoord. A Legend of Dutch soccer, Johan Cruyff, signed a one-year commitment with the Rotterdam club. Cruyff came over from the club where he grew up and also Feyenoord's archrival, Ajax. Ajax did not want Cruyff anymore and he did not get much playing time there the previous season. Cruyff was looking for revival and where better to get that than with Feyenoord? On June 15, 1983, Cruijff signed a contract. Remarkably, he received no salary in Rotterdam. "He played based on recette. They had calculated that the previous season an average of 20,000 people came to De Kuip for and match. And so they came to the following arrangement: of every ticket above twenty thousand, Cruijff got five guilders."

Feyenoord became Dutch champions with Cruyff on 6 May 1984 in the match that was played against Willem II Tilburg. Cruyff scored the first goal of the match, the second goal was scored by defender Henk Duut.  This particular jersey was worn during that match by Feyenoord defender Duut. In the end, it was 5-0 for Feyenoord. With this, the club celebrated its 12th championship in history. Henk Duut played more than 100 games for the club from Rotterdam, in which the match against Willem II was undoubtedly one of the most memorable.
