With the opening of the European market and Bobby Robson as coach, the team bolstered its lineup with key players like Luis Enrique, Pizzi, Vítor Baía, Couto, Giovanni, Blanc, and the standout Brazilian Ronaldo, whose transfer from PSV Eindhoven cost 2,500 million pesetas.
