Juventus’ 2003–04 season under Marcello Lippi was strong but ultimately overshadowed by AC Milan’s consistency and Roma’s brilliance. Juve finished 3rd in Serie A, powered by an elite attack featuring David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero, plus the emergence of Mauro Camoranesi as a key creative force. They scored freely — 72 league goals, the highest in Serie A — but defensive instability cost them in the title race, with several costly draws and defeats in the spring. In Europe, Juventus reached the Champions League Round of 16, where they were eliminated by Deportivo La Coruña after a shock 1–0 loss in Turin. They also finished runners‑up in the Supercoppa Italiana. The season is remembered as the final chapter of Lippi’s second Juventus era: attacking, entertaining, but lacking the defensive steel of his earlier sides.
