Real Madrid’s 2003‑04 season began brightly under Carlos Queiroz, winning the Supercopa de España and leading La Liga at mid‑season, but collapsed dramatically in the final months. Despite boasting the Galácticos core, Madrid lost their final five league matches, finishing 4th with 70 points. They were Copa del Rey runners‑up, losing the final to Zaragoza, and were eliminated in the Champions League quarter‑finals by Monaco on away goals. Ronaldo delivered a prolific season with 24 league goals, but the squad’s lack of depth and late‑season fatigue caused a complete breakdown across competitions.
