In the 1995-1996 season, Hellas Verona competed in the cadet championship under the management of Attilio Perotti. They finished second with 63 points, trailing Bologna, and both teams, along with Perugia and Reggiana, earned promotion to Serie A. Verona's first half of the season was average, yielding 27 points, but they surged in the second half, accumulating 36 points that propelled them to Serie A. Antonio De Vitis, who joined from Piacenza in the summer, played a crucial role by scoring 13 league goals, while Nicola Zanini, Marco Baroni, and Fabrizio Cammarata each contributed with seven goals. In the Coppa Italia, Hellas was eliminated in the first round by Bologna. Other notable scorers for the season included Ghirardello and Tommasi with four goals each, followed by Manetti and Ficcadenti with two, and Barone, De Angelis, and Di Vaio each with one goal.
