Coritiba Foot Ball Club is a Brazilian football club based in Curitiba, Paraná. Founded on October 12, 1909, by German immigrants and their descendants, the club is commonly referred to as "Coxa," a nickname derived from its supporters known as "Coxa-Brancas" (white thighs). Coritiba's notable achievements include winning the Brazilian championship in 1985, the Série B titles in 2007 and 2010, 38 Paraná state championships, and the 1973 Torneio do Povo. The team plays at Estádio Major Antônio Couto Pereira, a stadium built in 1932 that has a capacity of 37,182. In 1972, Itabaiana Coritiba FBC was established in northern Brazil, named in honor of Coritiba. Coritiba's biggest rivals are Atlético Paranaense, followed closely by Paraná Clube.
