Denmark made their World Cup debut in 1986, winning all three of their group stage games, including a notable 2-0 win over strong favorites West Germany. However, they were knocked out by Spain in the next round. Since then, the Danish national team has consistently qualified for the World Cup finals, with their most recent appearance being in Qatar 2022. Their best showing came in 1998 when they reached the quarter-finals.
