Regarded as one of PSG's finest players, Brazilian playmaker Raí joined the club in the 1993-94 season, contributing to their second league title victory. PSG achieved an impressive 27-match unbeaten streak, breaking their own Division 1 record set in 1985-86. Additionally, they achieved their largest victory ever by defeating amateur side Côte Chaude 10-0 in the Coupe de France last-64 round in January 1994. However, their hopes of a league-cup double were dashed by Lens in the quarterfinals. In Europe, PSG defeated Real Madrid in the European Cup Winners' Cup quarterfinals, making history as the first and only French team to win at the Bernabéu with a solitary goal from George Weah. Yet, they fell short of reaching the final once again. Despite drawing 1-1 with Arsenal at home, PSG needed to score in London. Surprisingly, coach Artur Jorge opted to leave Weah on the sidelines, leading to a 0-1 loss for PSG. This defeat marked the end of Jorge's tenure and his conservative tactics. Luis Fernandez took over, guiding PSG to one of their most successful campaigns.
