Possibly the best ever shirt produced is the Germany 1988-1990 Home shirt. Elegant, simple and just perfect. As a collector, to be able to have one matchworn longsleeved in the collection is one of the holy grails. An even bigger holy grail is the lesser known away shirt which is the exact same adidas template. This shirt has only been worn twice by the first team: on Wembley versus England on 11-9-1991 in a friendly and versus the amateur side TSV Barsinghausen on 02-4-1991.
The home shirt is most likely worn by Guido Buchwald versus Switzerland as it is only worn once in this specification without match detail and with a high quality embroidered badge by the first team. This was a friendly match ending in 4-0 for the Germans. This was the very first match after the unification of Germany. A piece of history!
The away shirt is most likely worn by a youth side or the women team as the shirt was only worn twice by the first team and the embroidered badge was in a higher quaity than this one.
