Parma once again challenged the top teams in Italy and Europe, but their only silverware was the UEFA Super Cup, despite their ambitious rise in Italian football. They nearly repeated their 1992–93 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup success by reaching another final but were defeated by Arsenal.
The acquisition of Gianfranco Zola from Napoli proved successful, as he finished second in the top-scoring charts, behind only Giuseppe Signori of Lazio. Alongside Tomas Brolin and Faustino Asprilla, Parma's attack overwhelmed many teams. However, their defense could not match the level of champions Milan, who conceded less than half of Parma's 35 goals.
Parma enjoyed one of its most successful seasons in 94-95 ever, securing a third-place finish in Serie A with the same points as runner-up Lazio and winning the UEFA Cup Final against Juventus. Additionally, Parma reached the Coppa Italia Final, where they were ultimately defeated by Juventus.
